Vybz Kartel Expected to Walk Free After Judge Denied Motion For Witness Statement

[Latest Update: July 24th, 2013] IT IS OFFICIAL. ADIDJA 'WorlBoss' PALMER WAS FOUND NOT GUILTY THIS MORNING WHEN THE JUDGE INSTRUCTED THE JURY TO RETURN A NOT GUILTY VERDICT. Vybz Kartel's fans and well wishers across Jamaica and other parts of the globe are already celebrating.

The teacha's second trial is expected to start later this year.



[Update: July 23rd, 2013] Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer can finally breathe easy because his high profile murder trial has taken a turn for the best.



Home Circuit Judge Bryan Sykes denied a motion by the prosecution to have a witness statement be entered into evidence.

This decision came after Judge Sykes spent three days listening to arguments from both prosecution and from Vybz Kartel's lawyers. Justice Sykes told prosecutors in court today, July 23rd, 2013 that he is not convinced that they did everything in their power to locate the witness who is believed to be in hiding.

The judge has ordered the 12-member jury back in court tomorrow, July 24th 2013 where the case will continue. At this stage in the trial, the prosecution will offer no more evidence and the judge will direct the jury to return a not guilty verdict. A final verdict could be reached by the end of this week.
