J Capri was a Jamaican singer and songwriter. She was born Jordan Joel Phillips on December 24, 1991 in Kingston, Jamaica. Capri attended St. Richards Primary School followed by Wolmers Trust High School for Girls. She continued her education at Edna Manley School of Visual and Performing Arts.

Capri's debut single, Nicest Feeling, was released in 2011 by Rvssian for Head Concussion Records. Her early success includes the 2012 single, Whine & Kotch (feat. Charly Black)' and the 2013 single, Pull Up to Mi Bumper (feat. Konshens). She followed suit with 'Reverse It' and 'Boom and Bend Over' in 2014.

J Capri was seriously injured in a motor vehicle accident on November 23rd, 2015. She was placed in an induced coma at the UWI hospital in Kingston. Capri was pronounced dead on December 4th, 2015. Her funeral ceremony was held on December 14, 2015 and fans and well wishers came out to pay their final respect.
