Back from a month long tour of Europe, Alkaline has all the confidence he needs going into Reggae Sumfest 2014. According to him "2014 has been extremely good, with many of his songs making rounds on the airwaves". As for the local scene, Alkaline is seen as the front runner in terms of those filling the void left by the Worl' boss Vybz Kartel.

Alkaline made his debut last year at Sumfest 2013, and now 1 year later after much controversy is easily one of the most looked forward to for the 2014 staging. Alkaline claims he's ready for dancehall night, and will be performing hits for his fans including '123', 'bruk out', 'move mountains' among others.

When asked about fellow entertainer Gage, Alkaline responded by saying "What is a Gage?". The 'Problem Child' deejay is not impressed by Gage nor Tommy Lee and claims that "many other artist just calling up his name fi get a hype". Alkaline does however give props to Mavado and I-Octane.
